Senior Associate Attorney

sends letter

Wes Williams is a transactional attorney whose practice focuses on payments and fintech, digital assets, video game commerce, and commercial technology contracts. At Global Legal, he drafts, reviews, and negotiates the agreements payments businesses run on, including ISO and agent agreements, bank sponsorship and payment facilitator agreements, referral and reseller agreements, merchant cash advance program agreements, and SaaS and platform terms. He also advises clients on money transmission questions, card brand rules, and the regulatory treatment of stablecoins and other digital assets.

Before joining Global Legal, Wes spent four years as Corporate Counsel at Xsolla (USA), Inc., a video game commerce company. His work there covered anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act compliance, FinCEN and state money transmitter licensing matters, and commercial contracts for a business operating in more than 200 markets. Having sat on the client side of the table, he approaches outside counsel work the way an operator would: with attention to how a deal will actually run once the agreement is signed.

Wes also brings more than 30 years of experience in California real estate, title insurance, and escrow. He holds a California real estate broker license and previously served as Vice President and in-house claims counsel at Fidelity National Title. He has been active in the blockchain and digital asset space since 2017 and co-hosted the CryptoLaw Podcast, which launched in 2018.

Outside the office, Wes is an avid gamer, which comes in handy when working with video game industry clients. He lives in San Diego.
